Fenelon Falls, Ontario

Tuesday, August 1, 2017.  Today we moved on to Fenelon Falls.  This was a short day, just 15 miles and no locks. (Whew!)  Fenelon Falls is another “go to” town on the Trent-Severn Waterway and it is still in houseboat territory.  It’s picturesque because there is a waterfall right in the middle of town next to the lock.  Fortunately, we found places on the lower wall for both Catalina and Tug LeeLoo.

Docking Tug LeeLoo on the wall was a little exciting because Carey had to maneuver the boat past an already docked boat against the current from the waterfall and the power plant.  But he did it.  And perhaps his docking was better than he thought it was.  Later in the day when the boat behind Tug LeeLoo departed, we loosened our lines and let the current push the boat back to the end of the wall.  This would facilitate our departure the next day.   Since we were below the lock, we would have to move both boats over to the blue line in order to be first in the lock in the morning.

  1. Is it possible for you to provide us with an ice cream report for each port? This is a priority for some of us.
