Parry Sound

Friday August 11, 2017.  Today’s destination was Big Sound Marina in Parry Sound, which is the largest town in Georgian Bay.  It was just over 18 miles away; there was a well-marked channel through the islands and rocks into Parry Sound.  Including three tight channels where you have to make a “Securite” call before entering the channel.  It was a nice day on the water.

When we arrived we went for a walk in to town before the rains came.  Parry Sound is known for the sea planes that will take tourists for a scenic ride to see the 30,000 islands area from the air.  Because of the marginal weather the sea planes were not running.  Or at least we didn’t see any landing of talking off.
